The short version
Backswipe has no accounts. Your shortlist, history and settings stay on your device. We only use your Steam ID to read your game library from Steam when you ask us to.
What we access
When you connect, we use your Steam profile link, username or SteamID64 to request your public profile name, avatar, owned games and playtime through the Steam Web API. We don’t ask for your Steam password and never see it.
What’s stored, and where
Your library, shortlist, history and preferences are stored on your device. Our servers keep only general game information, like genres and categories, that isn’t linked to you. Server location: [to be confirmed].
Ads
The mobile apps show ads through Google AdMob. Google may use device identifiers to show and measure ads. On iOS we ask for permission first, and in the EU and UK you can choose your consent options in the app.
Your choices
Disconnect your Steam account or clear your history in Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
